Textbook: a book that’s purpose is instruction on a particular subject, that may include questions/exercises, TOC, index, and/or vocabulary listing
Workbook: a consumable student’s book of questions and exercises to be answered by writing/typing on the pages
Reading Book: fiction or non-fiction literature; also referred to as a trade book, novel, or pleasure reading
Reference Book: a book intended to be consulted for information on specific matters rather than read from beginning to end
Supplemental Book: a book that supports the curriculum that is NOT a textbook, workbook, reference book, reading book (i.e., books directly related to a specific textbook, graded level readers, anthologies).
